Kris Bayer

Creative Writing


Kris teaches Creative Writing at Riverstone School. Kris spent 25 years homeschooling her wonderful seven children. During that time she taught various classes throughout the homeschooling community, including current events, Latin, Literature, Writing, and Thinking Like a Scientist. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, has received meditation training in 2015, and has led group facilitations in Socrates Cafe and Liberating Structures. We’re so happy to have to have her talents and experience here at Riverstone!

Janelle Mallonee

Chef


Chef Janelle Mallonee teaches cooking at Riverstone School. Chef Janelle spent four years as a petty officer in the United States Navy. After receiving her Bachelors of Culinary Management from The Art Institute of Seattle in 2013, she worked as the Chef at the Catered Table restaurant in Stevensville, MT.
Most recently she lived in Oahu, Hawaii where she worked as a chef of Japanese cuisine and a baker of artisan cupcakes. Now back in her home state we can’t wait to eat her delicious cooking!

Clare Ann Harff

Art


Clare teaches art at Riverstone School. Clare founded The Clay Studio of Missoula after receiving her B.F.A. from the University of Montana in 1996. She was the Executive Director of The Clay Studio of Missoula until 2003 and served on the board of directors until 2012. Clare Ann has been a practicing studio artist for over 20 years and is a founding partner of 4 Ravens Gallery in downtown Missoula, MT.  She is currently the president of the MAPS Media Institute in Hamilton, MT, and instructs both the design and entrepreneur programs.

Sarah Lloyd

Theatre


Sarah is an interdisciplinary theatre artist and educator who moved to the Bitterroot from Baltimore, MD. In Baltimore, she taught theatre at a public charter school and acting at Towson University as an adjunct faculty member. Sarah holds a BA in History from the College of Wooster, and an MFA in Theatre Arts from Towson University. She has trained and performed with Double Edge theatre in Ashfield, MA, and worked with a number of other companies such as Kibism under the direction of Naoko Maeshiba, WhiteFlag Performance Group, The Acme Corp, Glass Mind Theatre, and the Collective at Fifty Seven Hundred. She has also toured, performed, and trained in Boston, NYC, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Poland, Denmark, and Croatia.
Sarah is originally from the Pacific Northwest and grew up hiking the Cascades and exploring Puget Sound. She is very excited to be embarking on her second year as part of the Riverstone School family.

Southwell

Entrepaneuriship


Sarah Southwell is a serial entrepreneur with multiple businesses across the U.S. and the founder of Riverstone School. Sarah was raised around business leaders her whole life, and before starting Riverstone School, she completed the Fast Track Entrepreneurship program by the Kauffman Foundation.
In her personal time Sarah developed a passion for herbs and oils, she even creates her own medicinal herbs for her family of five. Now she teaches the course Herbs For Kids, where children learn the medicinal, culinary, and aromatic properties of herbs and how they have been used throughout history as well as how they are used today.
